Columbus Plus-Score

The Chess Enterprise presents, the Columbus Plus-Score, a one day over-the-board chess tournament. Four games each player receives 60 minutes with a 5 second delay to complete each game. Players are divided into two sections, Premier and Reserve-U1600. Prizes are based on your final score. The playing venue is conveniently located less than 10 minutes southwest from downtown Columbus and close to many restaurants. Boards and sets provided, please bring clocks. Open to all players.

Site: Columbus-Grove City Elks Bpoe#37, 2140 Sonora Dr, Grove City, OH 43123.

Format: 4 round Swiss. G/60 d5. Two Sections. US Chess Dual-Rated.

Rounds: 10am, 1pm, 3:30pm, 6pm/ASAP.  ♟Lunch break 12:30pm - 1pm♟

Prizes based on your score:

• Premier (1600+): 4 - $200; 3½ - $100; 3 - $50; 2½ - $25
• Reserve (U1599 & unrated players): 4 - $160; 3½ - $80; 3 - $40; 2½ - $20

Entry:

• $40 Early Discount online by February 06.  ENTER NOW
• $45 Regular online.
• $50 At the Door. (Cash or credit card ok, no checks.) 
• $15 play up fee for players under 1600 in the Premier section. Must be rated above 1200 to play in the Premier section.

Registration:

• Onsite Saturday, 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
• Online registration closes at midnight the day before the tournament.
• Bye: One ½-point bye OK for any round, if requested before the start of round 2.
• Section placement based on February 2023 Rating Supplement.
• Accelerated Swiss pairings may be used at TD discretion.
• Refund minus a $3 admin fee until the end of registration.
• Junior players must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
• Handicap Accessible.
